Job: Production Shift Supervisor

  • £40,000 to £46,000 per annum
The Production Shift Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing manufacturing operations during an assigned shift. The role ensures production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards, while supporting continuous improvement and effective team management.Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee production activities across all manufacturing areas to achieve shift output, quality, and efficiency targets.
  • Monitor progress and report outstanding tasks, issues, and risks to the Production Manager.
  • Delegate work effectively while checking quality, progress, and completion of assigned tasks.
  • Line manage Team Leaders and support the efficient handling of employee relations matters, escalating to HR and management where appropriate.
  • Promote an inclusive, professional, and positive working environment with integrity and initiative.
  • Drive and support continuous improvement activities.
  • Assist in achieving operational targets including on-time delivery, cost, and performance objectives.
  • Ensure production is carried out in line with the agreed schedule.
  • Maintain compliance with customer quality standards and all relevant industry and regulatory requirements.
  • Allocate manpower according to production priorities, skills, planned leave, absence, and capability requirements.
  • Ensure break times are adhered to and work areas remain clean, organised, and safe.
  • Enforce health and safety procedures, including the correct use of personal protective equipment.
  • Monitor manufacturing equipment and escalate faults or concerns promptly.
  • Undertake any other duties reasonably required by management.
Essential
  • Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to operational challenges.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and organisational skills.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes, technical requirements, and industry standards.
  • Previous experience supervising production teams within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of cleanroom operations and manufacturing controls.
