Our Peterborough based client is one of the UK's major reinforcement suppliers. They are currently looking for a steel fixer to assemble and erect the steel components required to strengthen reinforced concrete structures such as bridges, culverts, industrial plants etc. They will be typically be working as part of larger team on a construction project.
·Read, interpret and work to drawings, specifications and construction information.
·Assemble, position and install manufactured elements on site.
·Apply safe use, storage and maintenance of hand and power tools.
·Use a range of reinforcing steel products to shape and assemble structures to specification on and off site
·Precise understanding of how different types of reinforcing bars work together including joining/fixing and methods for installing prefabricated manufactured elements.
·Able to read and understand engineering drawings.
·Proficient with the use of various hand tools/mechanical equipment for steel construction work.
·Recognise how off site construction projects operate as components are brought to site.
·Work in accordance with the Management of Health and Safety Regulations and other relevant Health and Safety legislation.
·Communicate effectively with others and follow organisation procedures to conform to production practices.
·Meet the requirements of the Construction skills certification scheme (CSCS)
