Job Responsibilities
- Define appropriate technologies to be applied to solutions and product range
- Stay up to date with the latest and new technologies relevant to the field
- Ensure consistency across the portfolio's technology roadmap
- Collaborate closely with Product Development discipline teams
- Apply product development experience to drive innovative solutions
- Work under own initiative and develop others as an innovative critical thinker
- Demonstrate methodical troubleshooting, communication, and planning skills
- Possess a well-developed commercial awareness
- Engage with stakeholders at a high level to understand future needs
- Set and review architectures to align with requirements
- Identify and manage risks related to systems and projects
Person Specification
Essential technical requirements:
- Product Development experience
- Innovative critical thinker with the ability to work under own initiative and develop others
- Methodical troubleshooting, communication, and planning skills
- Well-developed commercial awareness
- Ability to engage with stakeholders at a high level to understand future needs
- Ability to understand and prepare requirements
- Ability to set and review architectures
Desirable technical requirements:
- Knowledge and understanding in one or more of the following areas:
- Excellent knowledge of communications systems equipment specification, design, or test
- Understanding of a wide range of network technologies
- Electronics or RF knowledge
- Understanding of VHF/UHF communications, Navigation, and Surveillance Systems
- Previous background in radio communications
- Experience in configuration management and various lifecycle models
- Ability to identify and manage risks relating to systems and projects
