Job Title: Contracts Officer
Salary up to 35K
A leading global organisation based just outside Peterborough, our client has a fantastic opportunity for a Contracts Officer to join their organisation and be heavily involved as a pivotal member of the Commercial Team for an initial fixed term period of 12 months.
You will be responsible for negotiating and agreeing terms and conditions with clients and sub-contractors along with providing contract management support to all areas of the business, providing expertise and advice on all contracts.
Your key responsibilities
Provide contractual support to their Bids & Proposal and Sales team by:
·Reviewing tenders and RFQs to identify key commercial aspects and evaluation criteria.
·Reviewing prime contract proposals to ensure adequacy of prime and supplier content.
·Be the customer interface on all contractual matters and as part of a bid team prepare contract paperwork for approval.
·Identify contractual risk review and associated mitigation activities, support approvals process through the bid and programme lifecycle.
·Undertake contract negotiations with customers, and subcontractors, ensuring orders taken by the business are acceptable and comply with company policy.
·Working closely with Supply Chain identify and assist with subcontracts flowing down terms from the prime contract as appropriate.
·Monitor contracts, service agreements and licences to ensure that all parties adhere to the conditions, management of contractual issues to resolution.
·Provide inputs as necessary for internal reports.
·Liaise with the Corporate legal and contractual teams as required, Provide support to the Programme Management team for ongoing programmes.
Skills and experience
·Proven experience with preparation of commercial responses to contract terms and conditions in a Commercial environment.
·Drafting and negotiation of bespoke contracts and agreements.
·Ability to carry out the work personally acting on own initiative
·Ability to identify issues coupled with the drive to resolve issues and bring matters to a successful closure
·Excellent analytical and communication skills, capable of interfacing with senior management at all levels, while planning, executing and coordinating bid work, negotiations and active contract management
·Demonstrable experience of proposal work and review of large-scale captures.
·Experience from a defence sector would be a distinct advantage.
