Business Development Manager

The ideal candidate will come from a recruitment sector background and have previous Sales experience, have an understanding of the recruitment and staffing industry and be a proven business developer that thrives on chasing and winning new accounts/business. If you’re looking to move into a pure Sales/BD role without the client delivery aspect, then this is an excellent opportunity for you.
Job Responsibilities
- Identify new recruitment sales opportunities within the sector
- Identifying decision criteria and qualify new sales opportunities through client engagement programs and market analysis
- Develop and deliver the sales strategy for the services we deploy within the market
- Personally Deliver and also manage activity within the target clients, e.g., cold calling, structured email or LinkedIn out-reach campaigns, digital & direct marketing campaigns
- Develop and manage relationships at senior levels in procurement, HR, operational and management groups within the target client base
- Presenting recruitment solutions to key company decision makers
- Negotiate contract terms with clients
- Use market intelligence, client input and competitor analysis to inform the development of strategy, actions and the identification of new clients
- Ensure the creation and maintenance of quality sales data within the CRM, leveraging the information to ensure progression of the sales pipelines
- Deliver targeted presentations and proposals that reflect individual client profiles and are developed through background research
- Work closely with marketing to ensure our value proposition is clearly communicated to potential clients through a range of marketing channels
- Attending conferences, networking and industry events and providing relevant feedback to the team and directors
Person Specification
- Current or recent experience in the recruitment industry, with a proven track record of building relationships, winning new business, and developing accounts
- Ideally have experience as a Branch Manager within the recruitment sector
- Innovation and problem-solving skills that include the ability to develop and propose solutions for clients
- You will have a solid understanding of the full end-to-end recruitment cycle within the industrial & engineering space
- Ideally have an experience of negotiating rates, lead times & business solutions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and recruitment systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A consultative approach to working with clients
- Positive attitude towards personal development and continuous learning
- Must have a full UK driving licence
Hours of Work, Pay, and Benefits
- Monday to Friday
- 40 hours a week
- £45,000 to £50,000
- OTE £60,000+
- 23 days holiday plus bank holidays
